Louis P. Spencer of Warsaw made a recent court appearance regarding his trial connected to the May 12 murder of 74 year old Everette Ronals Samuels, who was found dead in his Lara Ridge Road home. The Rappahannock Record reports Spencer was charged with murder in the second degree on August 29. Spencer additionally faces a felony charge of entering a dwelling while armed with intent to commit murder, rape, robbery or arson. His attorney, James Monroe, requested a mental examination for Spencer to test for competency to stand trial as well as his sanity at the time of the alleged crime and the judge granted a mental health review.
