A Weems resident is launching an organization to rescue and rehab injured wildlife in the Northern Neck. An organizational meeting for prospective volunteers will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock. According to the Rappahannock Record, Kimberly Manthy, who has spent decades rescuing and rehabilitating wild animals in Virginia, other states and other countries, is establishing Wildlife911NN, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center on her property in Weems, to replace a center that recently closed in Warsaw.
