Essex County is in the market for a new chief of emergency services following the departure of Terry Johnson. The Rappahannock Times reports Essex At-Large Supervisor Edwin E. “Bud” Smith Jr., who serves as the county’s director of emergency services, confirmed Johnson’s resignation. Interim Essex County Administrator April Rounds told the Rappahannock Times that Johnson tendered his resignation effective late last month.
