Northumberland County’s Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste (HHW) fall collection will take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, at the Northumberland Middle School bus parking lot, 175 Academic Lane, Claraville.
The collection is limited to Northumberland County residents and property owners only. Also, the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office will be present at this event to incorporate their “Prescription Drug Take Back” program.
Old household chemicals such as oil-based paint, cleaners, solvents, old or used petroleum products (including mower and boat gas), pool chemicals, pesticides and spent florescent and CFL bulbs and electronics will be accepted, she said. Ammunition, radioactive materials, tires, car batteries and medical waste will not be accepted.
