“The Virginia Department of Elections has announced that nearly 3,400 people have been reinstated to the state’s voter rolls after being incorrectly removed. VirginiaPublicMedia reports that the total is 10 times higher than the initial estimate of 300 people. ELECT says there are at least 100 more reinstatements to be processed. All affected voters should be notified by mail. The voters affected by the error which was first reported by VPM, were convicted of felonies, but had their rights restored, but were removed from the rolls after a probation violation, not new felony convictions.
