Still no word on charges forthcoming in a school bus crash that occurred in Mathews County recently.
On the night of October 16th, as we told you previously, State Police were dispatched to a scene at the intersection of Rt. 14 and Buckley Hill Road where a Mathews County school bus carrying about 26 children ran down into a 4-foot ditch
According to VSP, ultimately, only two students were transported to the hospital. They were in 14 -17-year-old age range, and their injuries were categorized as non-life threatening. The school district arranged transportation for the other students. The crash was the result of the bus failing to stop at the intersection, VSP stated. Both speed and alcohol were ruled out as contributing factors, but charges are pending.
