Northumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet at 5:30 p.m. today, October 12, at the Courts Building, 220 Judicial Place, Heathsville. At 7 p.m., the board will conduct public hearings on requests from Kathy Bray to construct a 197-foot communications tower on an agriculture parcel on Newmans Neck Road and Virginia Halal Meat Farm to operate a commercial slaughterhouse on an agriculture parcel on Fruit Plain Road. Also, the board will consider a request from Mark Malley to construct residential solar exceeding 25 kilowatts on a residential waterfront parcel at 1530 Mundy Point Road, and will hold a hearing to consider proposed increases in the building and land use fees and the addition of a building inspection fee for short-term rentals.
