Two more homes in Irvington have been recommended for short-term rental (STR) status following a Tuesday, October 3, planning commission meeting. Previously tabled to seek legal counsel, an application submitted by Mark Ralls to operate an STR at 294 Chesapeake Drive was recommended by town council for approval. Also, an application submitted by Heather Bristol to operate an STR at 52York Road, was unanimously recommended for approval. The situation really comes down to no commercial enterprises happening on the properties or anything else which may bother neighbors. A professional practice, like a law or consulting firm, is permissible. The Rappahanock Record reports town attorney Andrew McRoberts said the restriction is not binding to the town, as it is not concerned with zoning. More or less, it becomes an issue among neighbors.
