White Stone Town Council plans to add a public utilities line item to its 2023-24 budget. The Rappahannock Record reports Town manager Patrick Frere presented a proposed $85,000 budget amendment recently and following the first reading, council unanimously voted, 6-0, to set the budget amendment for a public hearing on November 2.
The amendment is the result of funds generated by the town’s new public sewage system and includes an estimated $45,000 from phase 1 user fees or $6,500 in estimated average monthly user fees. Some $16,000 will come from connection fees. Another $11,295 comes from tipping fees and $10,205 from supplemental funds or 20% of estimated monthly prepared foods tax collected.
