In Essex County Circuit Court, 39 year old Crystal Herman of Woodbridge, pleaded guilty to distribution of an imitation Schedule I or II drug. The Rappahanock Times reports the Chesapeake Bay Narcotics Task Force utilized a confidential informant to purchase what was purported to be methamphetamine at the Sheetz in Tappahannock. An analysis of the substance determined it was not a controlled substance. In a plea agreement accepted by Hewitt, Herman was sentenced to five years in prison with four years and 11 months suspended for a period of five years. She was also placed on one year of supervised probation upon her release.
