For the sixth time, VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital received an “A” grade, the highest possible ranking, from The Leapfrog Group’s fall 2023 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. This national designation recognizes a hospital’s efforts to protect patients from preventable harm. The Rappahannock Record reports The Leapfrog Group is a national organization committed to improving health care quality and safety. It assigns safety grades to participating hospitals across the nation twice annually in the spring and fall. It is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on a hospital’s efforts to prevent medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care.
