Mathews supervisors approved a conditional use permit for a 12-unit complex of one-bedroom apartments on Main Street during a recent board meeting. The Gazette Journal reports supervisors approved the application as it had been modified by the planning commission following a joint public hearing last Thursday. Planners unanimously endorsed the project after adding conditions they wanted the applicant, Rad LLC, to include in the lease. Mathews attorney Conrad Bareford, trading under the name Rad LLC, requested the CUP for the project, which will be located on the 1.14-acre site of the old Slaughter Texaco Station and the lot behind it.
