Ownership Of Cat Point Creek Lodge Transferred To Rappahannock Tribe

Ownership of the Cat Point Creek Lodge in Richmond County was successfully transferred to the Rappahannock Tribe by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Bureau of Indian Affairs. The ownership change will now enable the Tribe to renovate the lodge for uses as a newly developing Indigenous Environmental and Conservation Education Center. The Rappahannock Times reports the 7,520 square foot structure will allow trib- al citizens and the public to learn about Indigenous practices and history through various exhibits, classes, and outdoor activities. The lodge will also be the new home offices of the Tribe’s River Programs and Environmental and Natural Resources departments.
