The trial for a Weems man charged in a 2020 homicide starts today. The Rappahannock Record reports Matthew Chapman is charged with killing John Gordon of Kilmarnock at Chapman’s former home in White Stone. Chapman is facing a second degree murder charge after a judge ruled last year that prosecutors failed to show the shooting was premeditated. According to prosecutors the trial is expected to take 4 days.
