SNAP Benefits Going Up In Virginia

Virginians on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will see a benefit increse starting today. It’s the first increase in 45 years and is based on an update to the US Department of Agriculture’s calculation methodology. The average benefit will be 25% more than it was before COVID-19 when emergency benefits were implemented. The USDA revisions also raised the income limits to qualify for benefits.
