The Virginia Tourism Corporation announces it will be awarding $50 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to more than 100 localities for aid in tourism marketing and development. Corporation officials say the industry was severely impacted by COVID-19 and the funds will go toward tourism marketing, media, public relations, sales, and product development. Money will be allocated to each county and independent city based on the relative share of the locality to total state tax revenue attributable to tourism in 2019.
