Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Rolling Out

Virginia COVID-19 Vaccine Coordinator Dr. Danny Avula says the first allotment of pediatric vaccine doses have arrived. The vaccine was recently approved for those between 5 and 11-years-old. Avula says Virginia is getting enough doses for half the eligible population and around two-thirds will go to doctor’s offices and health departments while the rest goes to pharmacies. The child doses contain about a third of the vaccine that an adult dose has.
