9 people are vying for an interim seat on the Mathews County School Board. According to the Gazette-Journal the seat became available when Jeanice Sadler resigned. The board is holding a public hearing on on Tuesday to review applications and is expected to make an appointment at its Dec. 14 meeting. The interim seat runs through 2022 when a special election is held to fill Sadler’s remaining term.
