Wake Man Sentenced To 40 Years On Child Sex Crimes Conviction

A 76-year-old Wake man convicted of sex crimes involving minors is sentenced to 40 years in jail. According to the Southside Sentinel a jury convicted Jimmy Elias Bristow on 20 counts after a 2-day trial. Prosecutors say Bristow committed the crimes between 1986 and 2016 and charges were brought in 2019 after one of the victims came forward. Bristow was also fined $30,000. According to Virginia law Bristow has to serve at least 5 years of his sentence before asking for parole.
