The Virginia Coastal Resilience Master Plan was released on Tuesday, providing a foundational and fundamental step towards protecting the commonwealth’s coast. Virginia officials worked with 2,000 stakeholders to build the plan that documents which land is exposed to coastal flooding hazards now and into the future, as well as the impacts of those future scenarios on coastal community resources and manmade and natural infrastructure. The plan’s database serve as a vital tool to support resilience efforts at the state, regional, and local levels.
