Virginia will not implement a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for school employees or students. The mother of a 10th grader petitioned the Virginia Department of Health about 3 months ago to enact a mandate and on Monday officials announced they would take no action on the petition saying they lacked the authority to require vaccinations for employees – but a student mandate could be implemented in the future.
