A memorial service takes place Sunday for Governor Linwood Holton. It will be held at at Second Presbyterian Church in Richmond beginning at 2:00 p.m. It will be streamed live on the Second Presbyterian Church website. Holton died in October at his home in Kilmarnock He was the commonwealth’s first Republican governor since reconstruction and served from 1970 to 1974. The family asks that in lieu of flowers make a donation to the Linwood Holton Elementary School or the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
