The Virginia Department of Education is allocating $12 million for teacher recruitment and retention programs inder the Continuing Education Support Grant. One-sixth of that funding goes to help school staffers get their full Virginia teaching licenses. 20 divisions including those in Essex County and Colonial Beach qualify for grants as officials say those have relatively have high percentages of provisionally licensed teachers. Applicati0n deadline is next Monday.
