Tappahannock Man Charged With Scamming Residents

A Tappahannock man faces multiple charges for trying to get residents to pay for work that was never approved. According to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office the man claimed to be with the fire department and wanted a fee to clean a dryer vent. He then tried to charge for HVAC work that was never authorized. The man is free on a $3,500 bond. Call the sheriff’s office if you were a victim of this scam.
