Northumberland County residents could be paying their personal property and real estate taxes a month earlier if the Board of Supervisors approves legislation changing the due date from Dec. 5 to Nov. 5. According to the Rappahannock Record supervisors are moving the date so it is further away from the holiday season and it will promote paying early. A required public hearing is set for Feb. 10 after which supervisors could vote on the measure.
