Virginia Senate Passes Bill Requiring Parents be Notified of ‘Sexually Explicit’ Content in Classrooms

The Virginia Senate passes a bill requiring the Department of Education to develop model policies for school districts to notify parents of any instructional material that includes sexually explicit content. It also gives parents the right to review any such material and to request alternative, non-explicit materials for their child. The bill now goes to the House of Delegates and Gov. Glenn Youngkin says he will sign it when it reaches his desk.
