Miyares Wants To Cap Overdue Student Loan Fees

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares says he wants to reduce collections fees for those behind on student loans used to pay for state colleges and universities. In an interview with a Washington, DC TV station Miyares says he knows what a crippling burden student loan debt can be and wants to cap fees which can be as much as 30%. The AG’s office handles debt collection for certain Virginia State Colleges and Universities on overdue student accounts.
