House Asks Colleges To Limit Tuition Increases

A House of Delegates subcommittee is asking colleges to limit tuition hikes to no more than 3%. According to the Richmond Times-Disptach the limit is tied to $240 million in new college funding and is seen as a sign that the cost of college could go up after being cirtually unchanged for the past three years. One delegate proposed limiting state funding only to colleges not raising tuition but that isn’t in the current bill.
