The General Assembly convenes its special session on Monday and the big item on the agenda is passing the state budget. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch both chambers are far apart on the 2-year spending plan with a $3 billion dollar difference between the House and Senate proposals. Leaders say it’s not likely a budget vote will take place on the session’s first day.
