Participants in a recent solar power summit held last week in Richmond say solar farms should be developed on brownfields instead of agricultural and forest land. Brownfields are defined as previously developed lands that may be environmentally contaminated. According to the Virginia Mercury the attendees feel brownfields are good for solar farms because many already have electrical infrastructre in place and the properties are less attractive for commercial development.
