Youngkin Ceremonially Signs Legislation to Combat Human Trafficking

Governor Glenn Youngkin ceremonially signed seven bills that combat human trafficking in the Commonwealth and empower survivors. One measure directs the Department of Criminal Justice Services to develop an online course for training hotel proprietors and their employees to recognize and report instances of suspected human trafficking. Another amends the definition of “abused or neglected child” to include a child who is sexually exploited or abused by an intimate partner of the child’s parent or caretaker.
