Federal Programs Help Feed Kids This Summer

A pair of federal programs are helping make sure kids eat nutritious food while on summer vacation. According to 10 News the Summer Food Service Program and the Seamless Summer Option which are funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture provide no-cost meals. The programs are typically held at schools, public housing centers, community centers, playgrounds, camps, parks and houses of worship. Last year, they served nearly 1,000 locations in Virginia.
