Northumberland County makes it into the top 25 in a list of Virginia counties with the longest life span. The ranking published by Stacker puts the county’s average life expectancy at 79.7 years which is just over a half-year longer than the statewide average. Researchers used the 2022 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute in creating the list.
