The Virginia Department of Transportation announced it will install a temporary bridge over Monroe Creek on Monroe Bay Circle to reopen the road in Westmoreland County by late March. Monroe Bay Circle was closed last month near Stoney Knoll after a pipe failed, which caused pavement to collapse.
A temporary traffic signal will also be installed at the bridge to alternate one-way traffic across Monroe Creek, along with new signs and pavement markings.
