The Virginia Department of Transportation will open Balls Neck Road in Northumberland County on Monday, Feb. 20 after the completion of a bridge maintenance project. On the same day, a portion of Indian Valley Road will close for similar work. Indian Valley Road will close for approximately three months while work is underway. The signed detour route is approximately 9 miles. Drivers are encouraged to use the most convenient alternate route depending on their destination.
