Temporary Benefits for Several Virginia Assistance Programs Will End Soon

The Virginia Department of Social Services and Department of Medical Assistance Services announces several medical, food and financial assistance flexibilities and programs are set to expire due to recent changes in federal legislation. The programs provided additional benefits and eligibility waivers to help households cope with hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The congressional bills and the end of the federal public health emergency on May 11 means states will soon return to normal processes.
