With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Friday this year Virginia State Police are increasing intoxicated driver patrols through the weekend. Officials say St. Patrick’s Day is becoming one of the year’s most dangerous times to be on the road. Last year 5 traffic fatalities and 72 individuals were injured in alcohol-related crashes on Virginia roadways. Everyone is encouraged to plan ahead for getting home safely before heading out.
