Virginia Making Landmark Change in State Agency Hiring Practices

Beginning July 1 Virginia will implement
a landmark change in how state agencies will recruit and compete for talent by eliminating degree requirements, preferences or both, for almost 90% of state classified positions. According to Governor Glenn Youngkin’s office the new hiring practices will expand opportunities for residents and give equal consideration to all qualified job applicants.
