A report frim e Virginia State Police in crimes in 2022 finds violent crimes across the Commonwealth are on the rise. Those are murders, forcible sex offenses, robbery, and aggravated assault. The report states there were over 17,600 violent crime offenses reported in 2022. compared to over 16,800 in 2021. The analysis determined homicides increased by 10.5%, while vehicle thefts increased by almost 22%, and fraud offenses increased by nearly 10%.
