The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office was presented certification as a Certified Crime Prevention Community at the Criminal Justice Services Board Meeting held last week. The program’s goal is to certify and publicly recognizing localities that have implemented a defined set of community safety strategies as part of a comprehensive crime prevention and safety plan. 12 localities across the commonwealth have achieved this status.
