Virginia Employees Will Be Required To Give Unpaid Time Off For Organ Donors

Beginning on July 1 Virginia companies with 50 or more employees are required to give 60 days unpaid if they donate an organ or 30 days unpaid if they donate bone marrow. To be eligible, donors must have worked at that company for at least a year and provide written documentation from a doctor. News 8 cites figures from Donate Life Virginia that shows 2,400 Virginians are awaiting a life-saving organ donation.
