The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has run out of space to work and Sheriff Patrick McCranie is telling the board of supervisors they would like to move forward with the previous plan to expand the office. The Virginia Department of Corrections will pay for 25% of any new construction. The Rappahannock Record reports supervisors previously approved $630,000 in the capital improvement plan for fiscal year 2022 to move dispatch into a new 1,500 square-foot addition and make other changes to use the existing dispatch office. Apart from having plans drawn up, no construction ever took place.
