In Irvington, Commons development committee chairman Judy Penniman said the panel has altered its plans for the rebuilding of the tennis courts on the Commons, based on prior public comment. According to the Rappahannock Record,
Penniman said the new plans for the development of the tennis courts will include the rebuilding of two permanent tennis courts, four over-lay pickleball courts and two portable pickleball nets. Penniman moved to accept a proposal from Ben Rennolds to rebuild the courts and add the pickleball courts for a total cost of $144,510. According to Penniman, the construction of the courts will take five to six weeks to complete and should begin in October.
