Saturday school is being implemented soon for Northumberland schools soon as a way to combat absenteeism in the classroom. The Saturday morning classes will focus on attendance and academics with teachers assisting with organizational skills, classwork, homework, and administering assessments. Sessions will be held from 9 a.m.-noon two Saturdays each month October through March. Transportation will be provided. Students who have missed four or more days of school will be invited to participate in the program.
