Residents of Gloucester and Mathews Counties are among those who can apply for eviction prevention services through the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula which reported receiving more than a million dollars from the 2021 Virginia Eviction Reduction Program. The grants can cover rent, utilities, legal expenses, child care, and other necessities. The grant award will fund two full-time advocates who will be responsible for navigating the overall services provided through the program.
