Richmond County lawmakers are proposing a Fiscal Year 2022 budget that calls for no tax increase and pay raises for county employees. The Northern Neck News reports the nearly $28 million spending plan is over $1 million more than the current budget with most of that increase covering the pay raises and increased health insurance premiums. Officials say revenues weren’t significantly impacted by COVID-19 partially because of the federal CARES Act that was passed last year.
