Two projects in Richmond County receive funding from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program. According to the Rappahannock Record the county will receive a $35,000 loan and a $21,000 grant towards the purchase of two law enforcement vehicles plus the Richmond County Volunteer Fire Department will receive a $375,000 loan and a $75,000 grant towards the purchase of a fire truck with a 3,000-gallon capacity specifically designed to haul water to rural areas.
