Richmond County is back in the running to win state funding for a turn lane project at the intersection of Route 360 and Newland Road. According to the Northern Neck News the county’s application to the SMART SCALE program was evaluated using an outdated scoring model which determines which projects throughout the commonwealth should get funding. Once the score was corrected Richmond County’s project score increased enough to put it within range of being recommended for funding.
