Gloucester Village’s “Main Street Preservation Trust” wins a Main Street Forward Award which recognizes communities that have shown exemplary recovery and resilience efforts amid COVID-19 and other incidents in 2020. In issuing the award Main Street America cited the Trust’s “Downtown Dollars” program which raised nearly $150,000 in local business gift card sales and benefited Gloucester healthcare workers. While it was built as a response to COVID-19, Trust officials say the program is ready to use at any time in the future.
