A class action lawsuit filed against the Virginia Employment Commission claims the commonwealth is the slowest in America at paying unemployment claims. The suit was filed last Thursday by a number of legal aid organizations and they say they’ve been trying to work with VEC on getting a number of issues addressed including cutting off benefits with no explanation or hearing and months-long delays on determining benefit eligibility. The VEC had no comment on the suit.
